Good afternoon Predictable Revenue community,
I was nervous about taking last week off to write full-time. As someone who still thinks of themself as a salesperson, I was worried about my ability to sit in silence and write for a whole week. Turns out, it’s more fun that I was expecting. It was almost freeing.
I’ve always been the revenue focused founder because I can’t code. Anything I wanted to build had to be explained to an engineer, prioritized, and then I got to sit and wait. The thing I loved about last week was that I was finally the builder. If I hated the way something worked or looked, I had the ability to blow it up and start over. It was unexpected and I enjoyed the freedom.
A few of you have recommended I use a service called Help This Book from the Author of The Mom Test, Rob Fitzpatrick. This week I figured I’d test it out. Instead of a longer email, I’ll share the tl;dr and a link to HTB where you can tell me what’s good and what needs to be better.
As always, I welcome your replies so don’t feel constrained just to HTB. I always enjoy going back and forth with readers, these conversations have made the book better in so many ways.
Here’s the tl;dr:
This is the Introduction to the book in it’s current shitty first draft stage
I’ve gone back to the title “The Terrifying Art of Finding Customers” based on where the content from last week landed. It’s not just about your first few customers.
I’ve shared most of this content before and have cleaned it up quite a bit based on reader feedback.
Happy belated Canada Day and Independence Day,
Collin Stewart
